Well, it’s been a “hair-raising and crazy” last few days in Hong Kong. Here’s whats up!
We arrived late Friday night and took a taxi from the airport to our hotel in Hong Kong. The glorious (not so much) Wharney Guang Dong, hotel in Wan Chai area of Hong Kong.
Wan Chai is close to the Hong Kong Trade Show and Conference Center and is an older part of an older city. Hong Kong has had a continuous human settlement for 39,000 years.

The following is a just a few of the new ideas we have first scoped out from the show. These ideas we think will do well or even great in the promotional products world.

The Chinese trade show and factories are always a bit of a shitshow. The prices quoted and the minimum orders and speed of delivery talked about at the show often do and will change after the show.
When we go to the shows we go with some of our Chinese partners as they know the China dance. Here is Matt and longtime associate Leo.

Why our relationships are different.
After building deep relationships with our Chinese partners over 20 years our results when speaking with factories is different.
They (the factories) know we can and do deliver volume orders and work hard to produce a long term profitable relationship.
Our trading partners speak with the factories on our behalf gaining their trust and cooperation. In the old days (pre-2009) the factories would not look at any order less than 5000 pieces. However due to my trading partners aggressive requests (and other requests from people like me) we have been able to drive MOQ’s and speed along with prices down. Not an easy feat, trust me.
